Tomás Alves Soares (born 19 January 2008) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Benfica.

Born in Paços de Ferreira, Soares is a youth product of SC Freamunde and Benfica.[1]

In October 2024, he signed his first professional contract with Benfica.[2]

International career

Soares is a youth international for Portugal, having played for the under-15, under-16[2] and under-17.[3]

In May 2025, he was called with Portugal for the European Under-17 Championship in Albania.[4] He was a standout during his team's run to the final, coming on the field, scoring and assisting against Albania[5] and Germany[6][7][8] in the pool stage, and scoring again as a substitute in the semi-final against the Italian reining champions.[9][10]
