Transwestern Pipeline Company, LLC owns and operates an interstate natural gas transmission system that connects proudction basins in the San Juan and Rocky Mountain regions of northwest New Mexico and southwest Colorado, the Texas-Oklahoma Panhandle, and the Permian Basin in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico with major market areas in the West and Southwest, including California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and New Mexico. The system also provides access to Texas and Midcontinent connecting pipelines and natural gas market hubs serving western energy markets. Customers include local distribution companies, producers, marketers, electric power generators, and industrial end-users.[1]

Transwestern is a "natural gas company" as defined under the Natural Gas Act and is regulated under the rules and regulations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).[2]

Warren Petroleum, along with Monterey Oil Company and J. R. Butler founded the Transwestern Pipeline Company on March 11, 1957, and originally supplied natural gas to natural gas pipeline system of Pacific Lighting Gas Supply Company, a subsidiary of the Pacific Lighting Corporation in California.[3]
