Troy Junction–Merrygoen railway line

The Troy Junction–Merrygoen railway line is a railway line located in northern New South Wales, Australia. It forms part of a cross-country link from Dubbo in the Central WestOrana to Werris Creek or Muswellbrook on the Main Northern railway line.[2] This allows goods from the western part of the state to access the Port of Newcastle while bypassing Sydney.[3]

In December 2025, a timber trestle bridge over Beni Creek was destroyed in a bushfire, forcing grain traffic to be redirected.[4] The railway line remains temporarily closed until the Australian Rail Track Corporation construct a replacement bridge, which is estimated to be complete in June 2026.[5]

Junction

At Troy Junction in Dubbo the railway line to Merrygoen branches off the line to Coonamble.

At Merrygoen, the line joins the Gwabegar railway line.

Stations
