The municipality lies at an altitude of 456 metres (1,496 ft)^[2] and covers an area of 13.25 km² (5.12 sq mi) (2025).^[4]

It has a population of 563 people (31 December 2025).^[6]

In year 2021 was 509 people by ethnicity 465 as Slovak, 240 as Romani, 45 as Not found out, 3 as Ukrainian, 3 as Rusyn, 2 as Czech and 1 as Other.
