History

Ubuy co was established in 2012 in Kuwait by Dhari AlAbdulhadi and Abdulwahab Al-Othman.[7][8] In 2023, the company partnered with Canadian financial technology firm Nuvei to offer more payment options globally.[9][10] Ubuy co also includes a "Buy now, pay later" service available in several GCC countries.[11][12][13] In 2023, it was reported by Navbharat Times, that Ubuy overpassed 100 mln USD in revenue.[14]

In May 2024, Ubuy opened its first warehouse in Germany to expand international shipping of European products across categories such as fashion, electronics, and home goods.[15] In October 2024, Ubuy co expanded its mobile application with French and German, increasing the total number of supported languages to 60.[12][15] That same year, the company was included in Deloitte's list of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies.[16][17]

Regulatory action and lawsuits

In May 2025, Ubuy India, together with other e-commerce platforms such as Amazon India and Flipkart, received formal notices from India's Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) for listing Pakistani flags and related items. This action was taken when heightened tensions between India and Pakistan occurred after Operation Sindoor. The CCPA directed these platforms to immediately remove such products, and Ubuy India satisfied those demands.[18][19][20]

Operations

Ubuy co operates seven warehouses in different locations worldwide.[21] Through its website, customers can order products from outside their home country, with international shipping provided as part of the service.[16][22]
