Ulrich Siegmund

Ulrich Siegmund (born 25 October 1990 in Tangermünde, Germany) is a German politician (AfD) serving as a member of the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt since 2016.[1] He has served as co-group leader of the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD) since 2022.[2] On 25 November 2023, Siegmund took part in the 2023 Potsdam far-right meeting. Siegmund was chair of the social affairs committee until February 2024 when the parliament voted to remove him from the role due to his participation in the meeting.[3]

Siegmund is running as the lead candidate for the AfD in the 2026 Saxony-Anhalt state election. In a state party conference in Magdeburg, he was selected by AfD to be their lead candidate, getting 98.3% of the votes.[4] Since 2016, Siegmund has been a member of the State Landtag.[5][6] In 2022, Oliver Kirchner, chair of the AfD parliamentary group in Saxony-Anhalt, proposed that both of them could be lead candidate. Shortly after, Siegmund began co-chairing the parliamentary group with Kirchner.[7][8]
Siegmund is married to the school social worker Julia Siegmund and father of one child.[9][10]
