Publication history
In July 2025, during San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Comics announced the Ultimate Endgame miniseries, which depicts the return of Maker as the heroes from all five titles unite for the first time to prepare for his return.[1][2] In August 2025, it was announced that Ultimate Endgame would mark the debut of the "True Believers" blind bag program.[3]
In October 2025, during a retailer day at New York Comic Con, Marvel officially announced that the Ultimate Universe would end in April 2026 with the release of Ultimate Endgame #5.[4] But in March 2026, it was reported that the final issue had been delayed till June 10.[5] Some concepts of this continuity will be featured in the 2026 Marvel Universe crossover event Armageddon written by Chip Zdarsky, after Miles Morales' return to Earth-616 with the Origin Boxes of Earth-6160 in the aftermath of the Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion miniseries.[6]
Plot
In a flashback to 1963, the Maker travels to Earth-6160, intending to remake it in his image. He massacres the Eternals and destroys the machine that would have allowed them to resurrect themselves. Before being killed, Zuras asks what will happen if the Maker's experiment fails, with the Maker retorting that he will burn it down, then start over. In the present day, the Maker has been imprisoned in the City, his own headquarters, for two years. 30 minutes before the City opens and the Maker escapes, J. Jonah Jameson and Ben Parker discuss a series of uprisings against Maker's Council. In Staten Island's Savage Land, Iron Lad rebonds the picotech suit to Spider-Man after seeing that it was being used by his son Richard, stating that the suit was always meant for Spider-Man. Iron Lad, Spider-Man, Doom, and America Chavez plan to get into the City as it is stated that the Maker's Council has gone into hiding. Immediately after the City opens, the Maker's H.A.N.D. Helifleet attacks the Triskelion and shuts down the Ultimates Network, with Iron Lad, Spider-Man, Doom, and America Chavez being sealed inside the City and cut off from the rest of the world. As the group work their way to the Central Spire, the City's nervous system, they are attacked by the Maker's Children of Tomorrow. They are then saved by an army of Deathloks, led by Death's Head 22, who take them through a rift to meet Immortus. Iron Lad recognizes Immortus as his father Howard Stark, but Immortus does not recognize him. When Doom asks if he knows where Maker is, Immortus states that Maker has become the City as his face is shown on the Central Spire.[7]
It is revealed that Maker transformed into the Central Spire of the City after absorbing its mind. Iron Lad learns that Immortus extended Maker's bubble to keep the Maker in, which will only delay the inevitable. Outside the City, more than a month had passed, during which the H.A.N.D. Helicarrier fleet was destroyed by Vision and Anti-War Machine. Black Panther has declined to join the Ultimates after facing criticism and allows Killmonger to try and kill Maker. Killmonger begins making his way to the City. Meanwhile, Immortus states to the group that they are in Limbo, which is different from the dimension of Limbo and runs on borrowed time. The Children of Tomorrow attack Immortus' forces to claim the Immortus Engine, causing Immortus, Death's Head 22, and several of the Children of Tomorrow to disintegrate. Maker confronts the group and welcomes Doom back to the City while stating that he will make him proud.[8]
