Ulyanovsky District (Russian: Улья́новский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,273 square kilometers (492 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Isheyevka.[1] Population: 36,669 (2010 Census);[3] 58,366 (2002 census);[7] 54,919 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Isheyevka accounts for 28.3% of the district's total population.[3]
