UrbanGeekz is an American digital media company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, covering technology, business, science, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on startups, venture capital, and emerging technology ecosystems.[1] The platform was founded by journalist and entrepreneur Kunbi Tinuoye.[2]
History
UrbanGeekz was founded in 2015 as a video-centric digital news platform focused on technology and innovation, publishing both video and written journalism.[3] The publication has been referenced in coverage of Atlanta's technology sector, including in a TechCrunch analysis of the region's emergence as a major startup hub in the southeastern United States.[4]
Editorial Focus
UrbanGeekz publishes reporting, interviews, and analysis on founders, investors, startup ecosystems, and innovation trends, and also features technology product reviews.[5] Operating from Atlanta, the platform covers U.S. business and technology activity alongside international entrepreneurship and emerging-market innovation, including African startup ecosystems.[6]
Initiatives

Video Series
UrbanGeekz previously produced Geekz Watch, a short-form video news series focused on technology and business stories. The series is no longer in production.[10]
