Hi, I'm Addie! Late-20s, lifelong user, newer account (see below). I mainly seem to work on Pacific Northwest geography and history pages these days. Graduate of a small liberal arts college, former semi-professional sportswriter, and otherwise engaged in personal projects that involve the three Rs (research, reading, and (w)riting).

Particular interests: toponymy and historical place names, the history of Kirkland, Washington & other Seattle Eastside cities, Puget Sound and coastal Washington state geographic features, history & pre-history of the West Coast, Chinook Jargon and its use by non-native individuals and groups (in & out of the Pacific Northwest), indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast and their languages, the maritime fur trade, the history of land, properties & structures, and many more (see To-Do List below). A pet peeve of mine is when people conflate Chinook Jargon with Chinookan languages, a frequent occurrence on Wikipedia.

I also run a live-history account on a large microblogging platform, posting each day's news as it happened 150 years ago (presently 1876), requiring extensive research into the late nineteenth century, so I end up on pages relevant to that period quite frequently.

Account policies, shared IP address, & COI

Old account: I had an account I used for constructive edits from the mid-2010s to 2022 but due to its association with a no-longer-used name & privacy concerns, I will not list it here. It is inactive and will remain so, technically making this account a WP:CLEANSTART, though not for harassment or vandalism.
Shared IP address: My partner makes occasional edits on the same IP address as me, typically on vastly different topics, though there has been some overlap on a handful of pro cycling articles in the past. We'll knock that off.
Conflict of interest: I have a COI with a page for a notable (deceased) family member, which I solemnly swear to refrain from editing, even though I would love to fill it with stories about how cool he was. I'll also refrain from listing it out of a desire for (relative) anonymity, but if there is ever any concern I will disclose it privately with administrators.
