Arick Grootveld is a PhD student at Syracuse University (SU), studying information theory and theoretical computer science. Arick does research on hypothesis testing in both classical and quantum settings, with a focus on universal hypothesis testing.

At SU Arick works with Biao Chen, Pramod Varshney, Jason Pollack, and Venkata Gandikota. Arick briefly worked on a research project involving the Saab corporation while at SU[1], though he was never directly employed at the corporation. While attaining his undergraduate degree at Western Washington University Arick worked with Andrew G. Klein.
