I want to add S-matrix in one dimensional quantum mechanics for a plane wave function(definite momentum state).Initially I will prefer to give the definition of S-matrix in case of short range potential barrier.Then relate transmission coefficient and reflection coefficient in terms of matrix element of S-matrix.I am also interested to show that the unitary matrix property is related to the conservation of probability current.Finally I will also include the effect of symmetry of the Hamiltonian on the S-matrix and the one dimensional version of optical theorem.
