I joined Wikipedia in January 2023, but didn't start editing until April of that year. I mainly edit in the video games and music spaces; for the latter, my focus is on My Chemical Romance and sometimes Metallica. But overall, my main goal on Wikipedia is to simply improve the coverage of the subjects I like. I've also participated in three WikiCups, including the ongoing 2026 one.

"Welcome to the Black Parade" is a song by the American rock band My Chemical Romance from their third studio album The Black Parade (2006). It was released as the album's lead single on September 12, 2006. An emo and pop-punk song, the song follows the album's central character, the Patient, as he recalls a childhood memory before his death. According to band frontman Gerard Way, the broader theme of the song is about the "triumph of the human spirit". The concept of the song originated from the band's earliest writing sessions in 2001, and was rewritten several times over the course of five years until the band was satisfied with it. The song was a critical and commercial success, often being lauded as one of the band's best songs, if not the best, and becoming their most successful single on the UK singles chart and the Billboard Hot 100. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has listed it as a song that "shaped rock and roll", and music journalists have retrospectively viewed the song as an "emo anthem". The song's music video, directed by Samuel Bayer, was labeled the "Greatest Video Of The Century" following a MTV viewers poll in 2017.
