She appeared in the satirical television series The Ministry, which portrayed fictional government bureaucracy and was reported on by international media outlets.[1][2] In the series, she played the role of the minister’s secretary.
In 2012, following violent attacks against female actors in Kabul, Parniyan received anonymous death threats related to her work in television.[3] According to international reporting, she went into hiding after receiving threatening phone calls and expressed concern about continuing her acting career amid increasing hostility toward women working in public entertainment roles.
In later years, Parniyan was featured in media coverage relating to the documentary film In the Room, which highlighted the experiences and resilience of Afghan women.[4] The film was screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.[5]
