SeaHaircutSoilReplace has been active on Wikipedia for 1 year, 9 months and 27 days.

I opened up my account in April 2024, but I didn't start editing until September that year.

I really started to edit a lot toward the middle of 2025 onward.

Alternative account

In June 2026, I decided to create an alternative account, ReplaceSoilHaircutSea, to use whenever I'm on a public network. See WP:PUBSOCK for more information on this.

I make mistakes sometimes

This user tries to do the right thing. If they make a mistake, please let them know.

Sometimes, I make really dumb edits, and whenever I do, I instantly self-revert and apologize.

I often browse Wikipedia in incognito. If a temporary account edits a page in a similar way to that I have edited, or leaves a message/reply to a topic I was just in, then it's most likely me accidentally editing in incognito, logged out. Sorry if this happens!

Also, I sometimes slip up when reverting unconstructive edits from recent changes, such as calling good-faith edits vandalism. If I reverted your constructive or good-faith edit too quickly, please don't hesitate to bring back your edit and/or discuss it on my talk page.

Current areas of interest

Redirects

I have an interest in redirects. I categorize many redirects with rcat templates, and add shells to rcats that don't have one, just for polishing. I also nominate dubious redirects on RFD.

Date format redirects

A huge portion of the redirects that I have made are date redirects from different formats. For example, 12th of june to the standard June 12. Many date format-related redirects only appear for a few dates out of the 366. I make sure all 366 days of the year have consistent redirects for different date formats.

Wikipedia (project namespace) redirects

Many redirects that I make that are not in the mainspace are typically shortcuts to project-namespace pages.

Random page feature

I discover many articles by using the random page feature.

Manual of Style

I proofread articles for MOS issues, and fix any that I find.

Date formats

I make sure that date formats in articles comply with WP:DMY, MOS:DATERET and MOS:DATETIES. Non-US articles almost always use DMY, and the date format an article uses should be consistent throughout the entire article.

Consistency

I like to keep formatting and grammar consistent in lists.

I have a habit of removing repetitive links occurring more than once (outside infoboxes), and removing links to countries unless absolutely necessary.

Dashes

Many of my MOS-related edits consist of changing hyphens to dashes where possible, and vice versa.

Other areas

I read and fix any spelling/grammar errors I stumble upon, or add more context to paragraphs.

Inactive/former areas of interest

Reverting vandalism

This user despises vandalism and reverts it with extreme pride.

I was never an active RC patroller, and I don't have plans to become one. But I rarely check for unconstructive edits on recent changes, and revert if needed, warning users accordingly.

I was once really active on maintaining consistency in biological articles in particular, but haven't edited biological articles for a while, due to burnout.

Tools

Twinkle

This user contributes with Twinkle.

I use Twinkle for many of my Wikipedia activities. It allows for easily reverting vandalism—among other unconstructive and unsourced edits—and warning users without having to manually put templates on talk pages. It has many other cleanup-related features too, such as instantly making a WP:AFD or WP:RFPP nomination, reporting vandals and/or sockpuppet(eer)s to WP:AIV and WP:SPI respectively, etc.

Schedule

I am a casual Wikipedian, and I do not adhere to editing actively. I don't announce Wikibreaks whenever I do them.

Signature

SHSR TC is my current signature.

SHSR TC Early June 2026 The basic Arial font is too boring, even when bold. Arial Black looks cooler.
SeaHaircutSoilReplace July 2025 to June 2026 It's starting to get boring and old; I wanted to start fresh. Also, I couldn't link my contributions page here due to character limits in signature markup.
SeaHaircutSoilReplace (talk) Before July 2025 I wanted to unite the talk page link into the rainbow text, rather than separate it.
