About Me
Howdy y'all! It is hard to know exactly what to put in this section, given that I am known exclusively as a username on this platform. Outside of the Internet, I am more than a username. Still, it is my username that you clicked on to reach this page.
Let's start with the basics. The name Semancion is a tongue-in-cheek take on my last name, meant to make it sound like a dynastic house. In the vein of the House of Habsburg or the House of Bourbon, you might imagine a House of Semancion. I am told that this name (my actual last name) is quite popular in the former Czechoslovakia. To those who don't know me personally (i.e. anyone on Wikipedia) the name reference won't make sense. Regardless, it is my name, and I will be sticking with it.
I have been on Wikipedia since 03 February 2014. As of writing this, I am fast approaching 13 years on Wikipedia (currently I stand at 12 years, 1 month, 2 weeks and 5 days or 12.129 years). I have been a Wikipedia editor for a good deal of time, but I'm always open to learning something new!
My proudest achievement on this platform (thus far) was when I started the page for Macintosh Plus's 2011 album, Floral Shoppe. I take some satisfaction in the idea that the page introduced new listeners to one of my favourite albums.
Having lived in the United States (San Jose, California; Sunriver, Oregon; and Bend, Oregon) and in Japan (Sasebo, Nagasaki). I speak Japanese (日本語を話しできます。), along with (shockingly) English (although I tend to write in the Commonwealth Dialect). I currently live in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California, where I attend California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). I am currently learning French, Hebrew, and Spanish – perhaps in the near future I will update my user pages accordingly!
I am a musician and writer in my non-Wikipedia life. I will read just about anything I can get my hands on.
