I'm an embedded systems computer engineer currently living in Kongsberg (but hailing from Kristiansund), Norway. My wikilife began a little after 2 AM on 18 August 2003, when I started contributing to WKP

(and soon thereafter contracted a mild to intermediate (?) form of wikipediholism, which, a year and a half later, resulted in my promotion to adminship).

Being of an exceedingly leptosomatic physical build, and having had far too many hobbies and interests during my childhood and youth to care much for doing sports myself (as opposed to watching them), I have really excelled in only one sport: dodgeball. :) However, I immensely enjoy recreational back-country skiing, in particular the combination of cross-country and "powder snow skiing" (slightly downhillish, off-piste). And mountain hiking.

My encyclopaedic editing interests revolves mainly around the following:
- the history of computing and space exploration (and more broadly the history of technology)
- retrocomputing: 1970s/80s home computers and peripherals, centering on CBM's 8-bit products
- my darker side(?) is taken care of by a bent towards military history and advanced weapon systems, particularly missile systems and submarines/U-boats
- favourite (science-)fictional characters, brilliantly played: Phlox, Capt. Picard, Cdr. Data, and Ripley
- a more ungeekly, and very Nordic/Germanic, fascination: the winter sport biathlon
- last, but not least, I do a bit of editing on Norwegian matters, including Norwegian-Americans
Routine work
Besides writing/editing articles, much of my effort on Wikipedia has tended to go into maintenance:
- categorizing, incl expanding/maintaining/correcting(?) cat hierarchies, as well as cat item ASCII-sorting
- enforcing misc typographical Wikipedia policies
- sharpening stub category tags
- wikifying articles, particularly by adding comprehensive external link texts; sorry to say, the latter seems to be a frequently overlooked chore across WKP
- hopefully what can be said to be careful template maintenance/creation
- properly threadifying talk pages (makes discussions easier to follow, by several orders of magnitude)
- and the usual syrupy mass of link disambigs (dabs), article moves, and redirect bypasses (byp#red)

- Establish and edit/expand annual BWC season articles(?), starting with 2006–07
- Translate lots of biathlete bios from no: and de:

- Category:Integrated circuits: establish a couple more subcategories

- List of Motorola products: dab product lks, e.g. V220 --> Motorola V220, to distinguish those cell phones from other roughly similarly named, and much earlier (as well as more significant) products, like DEC's terminals such as the VT220
- Wikipedia:WikiProject CPUs: establish WikiProject, with structural features such as:
- CPU info box showing programming model, microarch, ...
- Lineage, direct/indirect, in-house/3rd party (place in info box or in separate 'box')
- Norwegian Institute of Technology: expand, espc History sec
sign extension: establish, if nobody else does- U-boat: write about Karl Dönitz' WWI escapades (and some WWII stuff, too?)

Edit summary codes
I use a number of abbreviations in my edit summaries. Many of the abbrevs are the standard ones, to be found in official Edit summary legend, while others are my own more or less self-devised ones (some infrequently used std abbrevs might also be listed below). Why do this? 1) for the obvious reason: it's quicker, hence no reason to drop the summary; and 2) contributors in doubt of the meanings will most probably come here to find out.
