ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Are you copying me?! Thanks for the help! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:24, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

@Zackmann08 great minds just think alike, right? I thought I'd try implementing the new improvement on some larger articles. Glad I could help! 636Buster (talk) 20:13, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Greatly appreciated. Takes a bit off my plate. Keep up the good work. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:16, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Bots are useless

Hello Buster; thanks for your edits. Be aware that citation bots are generally worthless, or at least require signigicant oversight. See this text from Alessandro Cutrona, for instance: <ref>{{Cite web |last=Wednesday |last2=November 6th 2024 |last3=McFerren |first3=5:00 AM ESTBy Robert |title=Cutrona defeats Hume to retain Ohio 33rd District Senate seat |url=https://www.wfmj.com/story/51746099/d24-oh-state-senate-33 |access-date=2026-02-04 |website=www.wfmj.com |language=en}}</ref> Three "last names" of which two are dates, and no first name.  Mr.choppers |   18:18, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

@Mr.choppers, thanks for the ping. I didn't generate that reference; it was introduced by someone else's prior edit, but I should have caught that it was messed up when copy editing. Thanks. 636Buster (talk) 18:28, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
Ah, sorry, pardon my half-assed sleuthing.  Mr.choppers |   18:32, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
No worries :) 636Buster (talk) 18:38, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Apologies

I very much did not see this edit before I (apparently re-)added that image to the infobox. I'm sorry. I reached out to Isaac, and he confirmed that he gave informal permission to upload the photos. He sounded open to sending a formal permissions email, so I'm hopeful that the deletion discussion will end in keeping them. Ed [talk] [OMT] 07:37, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

@The ed17, no worries! Thanks for reaching out to him; I agree in hoping that we can keep them, as they're some of the best skyline images available. Just noticed that there were some issue with the licensing/authorship that needed cleared up. 636Buster (talk) 12:38, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
