Help

{{helpme}} I have this book:

  • Ion Gudju, Gheorghe Iacobescu, Ovidiu Ionescu, Constructii Aeronautice Romanesti 1905-1970 (Romanian Aircraft 1905-1970), Editura Militara, 1970.

It lists every romanian aircraft from 1905 to 1970, with dimensions, some characteristics and 3-view diagrams. Is it ok to scan those diagrams and upload them to wikimedia? The copyright issues are somewhat unclear to me in this case. - Alexandru.rosu (talk) 14:44, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Book came out in 1970, I doubt all the images are license free. Some of the earlier ones probably are, but the new ones are probably not. You should probably review WP:IUP as well as ask at .. well, there's a forum for asking but for the life of me, I can't find it right now :D
Good luck, JaakobouChalk Talk 16:22, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
I suspect that Jaakobou was thinking of Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
You can certainly ask there, but I think it's unlikely that any of the images will be permitted.
For further help, you can also talk to us live.

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Play in your user area. For example, create User:Alexandru.rosu/test.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Orphaned non-free image File:Adobe Illustrator CS5 Icon.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Adobe Illustrator CS5 Icon.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.

Fair use rationale for File:Adobe Bridge CS5 Icon.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Adobe Bridge CS5 Icon.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:03, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I uploaded a whole bunch, but didn't have time to add Fair Use Rationale to them. Didn't know they were going to be deleted (it seems they are being replaced with svg versions anyway). Is there a template I must follow? Alexandru.rosu (talk) 06:06, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Flash CS5 on commons.

I noticed that a duplicate of the Adobe Flash CS5 file you uploaded, Adobe Flash CS5 Icon.png, is apparently available on the Wikimedia Commons. For this reason, the duplicate will permanently stay and now you're safe. mechamind90 20:34, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

IAR 90 moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to IAR 90. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and It also needs more sources to pass WP:VERIFY.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Onel5969 TT me 16:59, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

That's fair. Do you need me to provide more sources or more reliable ones? In my experience, Petre Opriș is _very_ reliable, but I can look into his own sources as well. On the topic of notability, I was rather focused on listing all projects by IAR, but maybe this would be better suited in a section on the IAR page itself? Oddlief (talk) 07:23, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Concern regarding Draft:IAR 90

Information icon Hello, Oddlief. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:IAR 90, a page you created, has not been edited in at least five months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 17:08, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:IAR 90

Hello, Oddlief. This message concerns the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "IAR 90".

Drafts that go unedited for six months are eligible for deletion, in accordance with our draftspace policy, and this one has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission, and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you read this, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the draft so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! DreamRimmer bot II (talk) 17:24, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
