Block

On the 18th of September 2025 HJ Mitchell blocked your account indefinitely, including blocking you from editing this talk page. He said that it was a Checkuser block, and gave the reason for the block as "massive spam/UPE farm". In response to UTRS appeal #111137 I have restored your ability to edit this talk page, and invited you to post an unblock request here. You can do so by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page, replacing "Your reason here" with an explanationo of why you think the block should be removed. If you do that, it may help to read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks first. JBW (talk) 17:30, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Request reason:

I am sincerely appealing the indefinite block placed on my account for massive spam/UPE farm activities.

I have spent time understanding the policies on WP:UPE, WP:SPAM, and WP:COI. I commit to never repeating the behavior that violates Wikipedia's rules and regulations.

I understand about my actions and how they lie in spamming, UPE, or COI. Actually, I am using a shared network where many people belong to the education field, and they do academic activities. Intentionally, I didn’t do any spam. If my actions or words in edits portray spamming, I apologize for the previous work and will try my best to do work according to Wikipedia guidelines in the future.

As far as COI is concerned, my field of study is philosophy; that’s why I mostly write articles or do edits related to such topics, areas, and notable personalities related to my field of learning. In the past I tried my best to not fall into COI, and now I am understanding more about COI to avoid it. I will appreciate my senior editor’s guidance in the future to handle this issue.

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia created and edited by volunteers around the world. As it is obvious, I will just say that I didn’t do paid editing. I will be grateful to you for keeping me out of the UPE category. If you have any doubt, I will clarify after unblocking.

In the future, I wish to contribute constructively by focusing solely on non-controversial maintenance tasks, such as fixing grammar errors and adding missing references to general interest articles, unrelated to any external interests. I will not engage in any promotional activity ever again. I am ready to abide by all community guidelines.Areeb422 (talk) 20:48, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

Can you please explain your connection to Alipakistani111? -- asilvering (talk) 07:31, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
This user is another Wikipedian who uses the same network at the premises where I live. As I mentioned in my unblock request above, I am using a shared network where many people perform academic activities.
However, I know this user because I mistakenly asked him to publish my previously drafted article. At that time, I was unaware that doing so was against Wikipedia guidelines and could be considered WP:meatpuppetry.
This action was unintentional. The article had remained in draft for six months, and I did not know about the rule regarding drafts potentially being deleted after that period. After I became aware of this rule, I had already been blocked, so I asked him for help to republish the article without making any changes.
Afterward, he was blocked and the IP address was also blocked. It is possible that other users have also been affected, as many people use the same network for academic work, although I do not personally know them.
I sincerely apologize for my mistake and request that the IP address be unblocked so that all users who share this network (including myself) can continue contributing.
As I am still learning how to contribute to Wikipedia, I will do my best to follow all guidelines in the future.
I have also learned about important guidelines such as WP:Sockpuppetry, WP:Canvassing, WP:SPAM, WP:COI, WP:UPE, and I will follow these policies to contribute responsibly to Wikipedia. Areeb422 (talk) 04:00, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
