Erica Da Silva

Erica Isabel Tavares Da Silva Mbatha, knowns as Erica Da Silva, is a Johannesburg-born and bred singer-songwriter. The earliest memory she has of doing music is the first song she ever wrote, at the tender age of 3. She has gone through life doing music at every opportunity, joining the school choir and learning to play the piano, guitar, and drum kit during her school career. She is also academically inclined, so she always strived to work hard on both fronts. From an academic perspective, Erica has 4 degrees, namely a BSc, BSc (Hons), MSc and MBA. She then went on to pursue a career in corporate and was quite successful at it. However, she always knew that her calling was music and now, she is a full-time singer, songwriter and performer.

Erica released her first official album in 2021 entitled “Rise”, with the title track being a dedication to her mother. Some of her notable performances include performing with the Mzansi Youth Choir alongside Shakira and Freshly Ground at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Opening Concert and Closing Ceremony. She also has a Yello Tracks Premium LiveStream Concert that was released in 2022. She has also performed at the 2025 Ekurhuleni Gin Festival. BaneleT (talk) 05:45, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
