Use of copyrighted images/team logos
Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content with respect to the use of copyrighted images/team logos. Please ask questions if anything is unclear. I have reverted insertion of the improperly licensed image from the Saint John Sea Dogs article. Flibirigit (talk) 16:31, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Please see the link provided above. Your edits to the Saint John Sea Dogs article have violated copyright laws again! Flibirigit (talk) 15:06, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Flibirigit,
- I work for the Saint John Sea Dogs so all of this information that I updated is coming straight from the team. What is the best way to properly do all of these edits including the logo? I am pretty new to doing edits on here so I apologize for not doing things correctly Bmacpherson97 (talk) 17:55, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content with respect to the use of copyrighted images/team logos. Such images are uploaded locally to Wikipedia, and never on the Commons. Team logos have a fair use license. See example at File:Halifax Mooseheads logo September 2022.png. Images must also be at a low resolution. If you work for the team, you might have a conflict of interest in editing the article. I suggest reading the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest policy. Allow me some time to upload the new logo correctly. Also, it is best to keep a conversation all in one place. I removed the duplicate thread on my talk page. Best wishes. - Ok got it!
- The COI policy recommends putting suggested edits in the talk page of the article to avoid COI issues. So if I want to have team information such as President, Owner, etc.. should I put it in the talk page and then someone like yourself could do those edits with proper sources? Bmacpherson97 (talk) 18:17, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yes. The best sources will be independent of the team and league, such as newspapers. Flibirigit (talk) 18:25, 9 July 2025 (UTC)

Always cite reliable sources
Hello, I'm Flibirigit. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Saint John Sea Dogs, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Flibirigit (talk) 15:05, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
