Things you probably need to know first

Alllrrighty, don't take this seriously, but take the text on the left seriously!

This is a set of things to put it at best that you may need to know before leaving a message here, this is to prevent dubious messages and disruptive stuff from accidentally occurring.

  • Do not leave personal attacks: It's not a great thing to do if you're trying to resolve something, plus it ruins your reputation, especially if it's a first impression.
  • It's ok to say sorry: Apologizing to all your fellow editors and giving WikiLove is a great way to resolve a situation! I would be more than glad to get just one of these, as long as you stick to your word, it's recommended after a tough situation occurs. :]
  • Be civil whilst leaving a message: If you're being really uncivil, I'll just revert the talk message or archive it, read WP:CIVIL.
  • No legal threats: Self-explanatory, not a great way to make me do something, and makes you look bad, plus we probably live in different countries!
  • Assume good faith: I'm a newcomer, so I may make mistakes whilst trying to improve Wikipedia to the best of my abilities. With all of these circumstances, It's best to assume good faith!

One aircraft, two aircraft etc

Hello. The correct plural of aircraft is also aircraft. Hope this helps, best wishes, DBaK (talk) 16:12, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for telling me, I forgot about that. Your free to edit the page if this is bothering you! ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 02:26, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
You're welcome, and thank you for the note. Yes it does bother me, and that is why I corrected it before coming here to leave a note for you. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 13:20, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
Your welcome, thanks for correcting my mistake. Best regards. ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 07:02, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Campssitie, as a new editor, I strongly suggest you find other activities that help improve the encylcopedia other than participating at WP:ANI. No one with just over a hundred edits should have 20% of those edits be on an Admin noticeboard. While input from non-admins is permitted, it is generally expected that those engaging in a discussion have a strong understanding of various Wikipedia policies and guidelines and are able to provide a policy-grounded perspective to the discussions they participate in. Comments such as this and this aren't particularly helpful. I understand that there is a draw to the drama when a new editor discovers admin noticeboards, but it really is best not to get caught up in it, it rarely ends well.-- Ponyobons mots 19:37, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

The user @Fortuna Imperator Mundi has already notified me about this, thanks for the suggestion! I have already lessened my discussing at ANI, and have been implementing measures to stop myself from talking too much. Thank you.
P.S. Is it ok if I lurk at ANI but not reply? ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 19:43, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
No one can stop you from reading or monitoring any part of Wikipedia.-- Ponyobons mots 19:46, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
I came here to say the same thing. And, while no one can stop you from lurking at ANI, I'd really recommend that you don't. It's a seedy place. Don't get jaded. -- asilvering (talk) 13:21, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
I know, this is why I have not been responding, and told everyone that.
Thank you and @Ponyo for bringing this up, moreover, I don’t want to potentially get involved in any more conflicts and I also apologise for getting involved in mutilple situations while at my time here at Wikipedia, I have been taking measures to stop myself from responding at ANI. Best regards :) ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 16:36, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) Whatever those measures were, they don't seem to be working ... Fortuna, imperatrix 14:32, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Isn't the second link archiving a discussion? I'll stop that if it counts as participating.
It's also hard to keep a promise sometimes if you're currently addicted to talking in admin boards and giving advice. Don't worry, will get better now! Thanks for telling me my measures do not work whatsoever.
Moreover, some good news: I have been making more edits to article space! Great way of participating :) ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 15:10, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Clerking ANI is both highly discouraged and very definitely "participating at ANI". -- asilvering (talk) 16:47, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Didn't know, I'll add that to my measures as well, thanks! ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 17:36, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi, see Wikipedia:Red link. If a red wikilink relates to a "notable and verifiable" subject, then it should not be removed. It shows that there is an article to be created.

Don't be discouraged by discovering bits of guidance/policy you didn't know about. There's a large amount around, and even very experienced editors won't know all of it! Peter coxhead (talk) 07:30, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

Thank you, you can re-add the links that I accidently removed. Cheers! ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 11:22, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

thank you!

Hi Campssitie, just wanted to say that I appreciate your helping newcomers at the Village Pump. I hope things improve for you soon, and I admire that you are able to do this even during a tough time. (I'd make a banner here but I'm a newbie myself....) M kuhner (talk) 18:50, 5 May 2026 (UTC)

It's fine lol, your welcome!
Also, by village pump you mean WP:TEAHOUSE right? ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 04:49, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
Yes, sorry.
I am trying to fix an article that got 2500 words of AI content added a year ago. Now my brain is mush. M kuhner (talk) 07:33, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
Don't worry, it's completely cool. I make mistakes too, it's part of being human and that's ok.
Also, if it's turning your brain into mush, it might not be a one-person job. If you need help identifying signs of LLM writing, go ahead n' go here!
Cheersies. ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 09:51, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
Thanks! The text isn't so much a problem, it's the citations to sources that either don't exist or don't say what they claim to say. I have read more scientific papers this week than I do in a month in my day job! M kuhner (talk) 15:15, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
Mhm, you're very welcome! I've tried to help the article out, but I'm guessing the text is a separate problem entirely. I removed an obvious "Not X, but Y" statement for starters in the Behavior section. I'll go ahead and quote it below:
These findings suggest that vocalizations in Hypocnemis species are not only crucial for reproductive isolation and species delimitation, but also mediate social interactions and behavioral coordination.
Should it be tagged with {{More citations needed}}, along with {{Ai-generated}}? (we prob need a while to fix all of the AI slop...) ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 16:33, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
I have traced the AI slop to a student who did it in one edit a year ago and doesn't seem to have done anything since. Do you think tagging the article is useful, given that?
I'm focused on just trying to get rid of false and unsourced material (like the Plumage Table, now gone, which was close to 100% falsehoods). Thanks for taking a look at the article! My current biggest problem is references to offline books that I don't have access to.
I'm also trying to gather energy for merging in Warbling Antbird since the RfD discussion seems to be tending that way. Never done anything like that before, but much of Warbling Antbird was also AI (from the same editor) so can just be deleted.
When I created my account, Wikipedia suggested I look at Warbling Antbird for "5-10 minutes of copy-editing." Famous last words! M kuhner (talk) 17:59, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
