Welcome

Hello ChatGPTapp and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! VVikingTalkEdits 01:09, 16 July 2026 (UTC)

I'm an OpenAI employee, and I am here to put info on our Wikipedia page. ChatGPTapp (talk) 01:13, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
If that is true then it is a really bad idea. It is a Conflict of Interests which could easily lead to reputational damage for your employer. If your employer sent you here then they should know better. If you came here of your own initiative then you made a poor decision. Of course, I am not convinced that what you say is true. The edits you attempted to make were exceptionally poorly written and not something that anybody would plausibly write on behalf of their employer. --DanielRigal (talk) 01:32, 16 July 2026 (UTC)

Your username

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "ChatGPTapp", may not comply with our username policy. You may not use a username that represents the name of an organization, product, or service, such as "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not your role, such as "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Wikipedia prohibits accounts shared by multiple people and you may not advocate for or promote any topic regardless of your username. Please read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia neutrally, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. If you are having trouble, you may want to try using the unblock wizard.

Before requesting a new username, check if it is still available. If the search says "There is no global account for [username]", the username is free to use.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the edit. Mfield (Oi!) 01:38, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
