Information icon Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You have been using multiple IPs from Bolivia along with this new username. Chartmasters is a blog that uses its own unique system to count total sales, and is restricted per WP:USERG. Binksternet (talk) 20:31, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

I understand, but I think that those figures that chartmasters manage about Coldplay albums are correct estimates. I saw that other artists are wrong but I saw and searched in other sources and they more or less agreed, I am only talking about Coldplay albums. Claudio1098 (talk) 03:04, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
In any case, I will cite more sources. Claudio1098 (talk) 03:05, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

Chartmasters is a self-published source, so it fails WP:USERG. It's also listed at Wikipedia:Record charts as an unreliable source.
Tweets are also a violation of WP:USERG except in limited instances.
Lots of publications put out clickbait listicles. You cited one of them by businessinsider. These pop culture lists are at the bottom of reliability. It would take a lot of them to add up to something worth mentioning. Binksternet (talk) 04:00, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

Stop icon Do not use multiple IP addresses to disrupt Wikipedia, like you did at Ghost Stories (Coldplay album). Such attempts to avoid detection, circumvent policies or evade blocks or sanctions will not succeed. You are welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, but your recent edits have been reverted or removed. If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Binksternet (talk) 07:12, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on A Head Full of Dreams. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 07:15, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

There is information that does not seem correct to me if we look at Coldplay's total album sales numbers, Parlophone, Coldplay's record label, announced that it sold more than 100 million albums, and entering the albums I add up the data of the albums. profiles of the albums and it does not reach the stated numbers, with this I mean that the total sales numbers of the albums are wrong or need to be updated, and I used chartmasters because it will not be precise but it is the one that is closest to this number, also use quotes from twitter of the coldplaycharts account because it is the one that has the most accurate numbers Claudio1098 (talk) 16:05, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

I would like to appeal my block and have you unblock me, I have no intention of adding incorrect information, rather my intention is to be able to inform you in the best way possible that Parachutes' sales are not 13 million, I work in the music industry and the figure is around 17 million, the same with A Rush Of Blood To The Head, they are not 17 million but rather they are close to 21 million. I just wanted to inform you in the best way possible, I don't think my block is fair, I hope you can unblock me. Claudio1098 (talk) 14:35, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

I also cited correct information and they took it down. I don't understand. When other editors don't even cite sources and don't do anything to them, I think they are being very unfair to me. Claudio1098 (talk) 14:37, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

You are misunderstanding the issue. Wikipedia is based on verifiable information, not "truth". You may, or may not, be right about the record sales but that isn't the point. The point is that a reliable source says they are X and you are replacing X with Y based on a source that is not reliable. It doesn't matter at all if the unreliable source is right, what matters is that the article content must be based on reliable sources - even if they are "wrong". I'd also add that you say you work in the music industry. If your job is related to any of the articles that you are editing then you will need to disclose this as a potential conflict of interest. If you want to be unblocked you'll need to follow the instructions in the block message. MarcGarver (talk) 14:51, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
Are you telling me that we should only put information from "reliable" sites, no matter how wrong they are? Did you read this before writing because I find it shameful that you have a high position in Wikipedia, that only makes many people stop trusting Wikipedia because of administrators like you, I have no interest, I just want the truth to be known, but I see that you are only interested in manipulating the information based on prestigious magazines that also handle interests, in many sites I found the data that I refuted in Wikipedia about Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Head, not just in one. This space was created to inform with the truth, not under sites that seem or suit you, this is just an example of how Wikipedia is a decline as an information site because of administrators like you. Claudio1098 (talk) 22:32, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
You have been adding unsupported "facts" such as A Rush of Blood to the Head selling 21 million copies. You made this claim in 2024, adding a non-working citation to Music Week, the archived version of which says that the album sold 2,638,927 copies by the magazine issue date of March 12, 2008. This is misrepresentation of the source. This is falsehood. Binksternet (talk) 23:55, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
I don't have a "high position", I'm the same as you - just another editor. I just took an interest in trying to help you understand why your edits are being rejected. If you are right, there will be a reliable source which supports your view. There is no conspiracy here. MarcGarver (talk) 10:19, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
