Blocked for username against Wikipedia policy

icon
Welcome to Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, team, club, organization, company, product, department, or website. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
    • Before requesting your new username, check if it is still available. If the search says "There is no global account for [username]", the username is free to use.

The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual:

  • You are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually. Examples include: "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

If your username does not represent a group, organization, department, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Thank you.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I previously chose a username that appeared to represent an organization or journal, which violated Wikipedia's username policy. I understand this policy now and would like to continue contributing under a new personal username. Thank you for your understanding. Antibody Therapeutics Journal (talk) 21:07, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

I have renamed and unblocked your account. You should follow the advice in ERcheck's comment below. Welcome back. PhilKnight (talk) 18:40, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) What (if any) affiliation do you have with the Antibody Therapeutics Journal? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:31, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

@Antibody Therapeutics Journal - You did disclose a conflict of interest on Draft:Antibody Therapeutics. Please review WP:PROMO to become fully informed about Wikipedia's stance on promotion/advertising. ERcheck (talk) 22:46, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for your questions.
I am a volunteer for the Antibody Therapeutics Journal. I have no financial or employment relationship with the journal or its publisher, but I do have a conflict of interest as someone associated with the journal.
I disclosed this conflict of interest on the draft, and I have reviewed Wikipedia's guidelines on conflict of interest and promotional content (WP:COI, WP:PROMO). I understand that:
- Articles must be written from a neutral point of view
- I should avoid promotional language such as "leading," "prestigious," or "cutting-edge"
- All content must be based on independent, reliable sources
- I should not edit the article directly after it is published, but instead propose changes on the talk page
I am requesting a username change to a personal username,so that my username does not appear to represent the journal. I will continue to follow Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines.
Thank you for your time and guidance. Antibody Therapeutics Journal (talk) 02:18, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
@Antibody Therapeutics Journal - Your rename should go through. I expect that there will be a post on your talk page saying the rename has been approved soon. After this, I expect you will be unblocked. Be sure to repost your COI note on the draft page, and, I recommend noting it on your user page as well. ERcheck (talk) 15:10, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
