Information icon Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia, and articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Wikipedia:Wedding campaign of Tymofiy Khmelnytsky. Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, please use your sandbox instead, where you are given a certain degree of freedom in what you write. Please write humor pages in the Wikipedia namespace. 💽 🌙Eclipse 💽 🌹 ⚧ (she/they) talk/edits 01:48, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

Canvassing Notice

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. Editors note: This was done on the Soviet-Afghan War page, see talk page. Noorullah (talk) 12:41, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

WP:RESULT

G’day Grechkovsky, I noticed that you have been changing results on Bosnian War battle articles, and in some cases have referred to WP:RESULT. That guidance is very dubious and unhelpful, and the consensus for the wording currently in it is extremely weak. It is, frankly, counter-intuitive. It is far more useful for the reader to see a succinct outcome in plain language than trying o shoe-horn a unique military outcome into a choice of three possible outcomes. Please do not make such changes unless you have achieved consensus for it on the talk page of the relevant article. Especially in this area, which is controversial and where such behaviour can be considered disruptive. Feel free to respond here if you wish to do so, as I will watch list this page for a week. All the best, and enjoy editing Wikipedia. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:28, 30 July 2025 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to comply to the guideline, and if the outcome is unclear or controversial to put see result or see aftermath, so readers can read about the result in detail in the section of the article devoted to it? Grechkovsky (talk) 15:59, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
No. The infobox should summarise the article, its content should be led by what is in the article, not some dubious template guideline with a very weak consensus that doesn’t help the reader. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 22:55, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
