- Hi George,
- Thank you for the message! Would you be able to give me some help in raising a Deletion review for the Dan Gheesling page? I appreciate I likely used the template wrong as I am unfamiliar with the notation used. I left a note on Vanderwaalforces talk page stating my position with regards to the Dan Gheesling article.
- Thank you! Hambuster1 (talk) 21:28, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Can WP:DELREVD (WP:deletion review#Instructions) do? George Ho (talk) 21:30, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- BTW, are you in any way related to Dan Gheesling, a Twitch user who has watched Gheesling's Twitch channel, or....? And WP:teahouse can also help if you still have questions for others to answer to you. George Ho (talk) 21:33, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi George, still struggling away with the template for the Deletion review! I may have to resort to the teahouse, thank you for the link.
- I have watched his livestream in the past but I am not affiliated with him any more than a someone who watches Big Brother.
- Just in case you are able to help, would this be a correct way to fill out the Deletion review template and should it be placed on the deletion discussion page? Computers and notation has never been my strong point.

Article should not have been deleted. ~~~~ Hambuster1 (talk) 22:06, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Ok that's definitely wrong! I don't know what I should be putting in each field in the template... Hambuster1 (talk) 22:10, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Umm... You know what? Just hold off your emotions and then wait for someone else to do this on your behalf. Or, have you tried WP:VisualEditor yet? Or, why not WP:articles for creation instead? DRV process seems to be admittedly not your strong point, huh? You're not gonna unilaterally undo the redirection of the "Dan Gheesling" article, are you? George Ho (talk) 22:16, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, shucks! Draft:Dan Gheesling is already created! Just abandon the DRV thing and then edit that draft! George Ho (talk) 22:18, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- George, I don't appreciate your tone.
- Have you read the (admittedly long) message left on Vanderwaalforces talk page? Which part was I incorrect about? As far as I can see, your interpretation of the notability criteria is incorrect and the article shouldn't have been deleted. I would appreciate an explanation as to how I am wrong about this.
- I don't understand why you are unwilling to help me, it doesn't seem in-keeping with the collaborative nature of Wikipedia to me. I am trying to correct a mistake and have asked for your help. Hambuster1 (talk) 22:20, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
What's wrong with it? Was it my use of an exclamation mark (!)? Was it suggesting WP:VisualEditor? Or what else?George, I don't appreciate your tone.
"Incorrect"? Your interpretation of NBASIC/GNG... What about WP:BIO1E, which addresses articles about those notable for only one event? Oh, and GNG also addresses what BIO1E has been addressing. Furthermore, the other editor agreed with me that Gheesling may not have met NBASIC.Have you read the (admittedly long) message left on Vanderwaalforces talk page? Which part was I incorrect about? - Dunno whether you read the long list of WP:RSP#Sources, but... Anyways, Daily Mail? Per WP:DAILYMAIL, that source has been deprecated for several or more years.
- The Yahoo article uses CinemaBlend article, which mostly has been comparing Big Brother 10 to later seasons; never been mostly about him aside from article headlines (see WP:HEADLINE for why headlines alone aren't "reliable").
- Also, Reality Tea article mentions Dan's Traitors gameplay/appearance briefly and appears more like an op-ed, IMO. IMDB redistributed The Things article, which may be also an op-ed and a recap in disguise, IMO.
- The Variety article is just an interview with the primary source, Gheesling himself, so it's not considered "independent" per WP:GNG. So is the Vulture one.
- Polygon one is mostly recapping Dan's Traitors gameplay (but has author's opinions). George Ho (talk) 22:50, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
Dunno what you've been referring to: the DRV or the Draft:Dan Gheesling? I think improving the latter one, i.e. the draft started by someone else, should be more helpful than just trying to start a DRV on the AFD result, ya know. Right? - Hi George,
- I realise this probably wasn't the outcome you were hoping for. You're right, I wasn't able to overturn the decision unilaterally, but I like to think a lot is possible through the power of teamwork and commitment to justice.
- You raise some good points in the above message, although it seems the page has been reinstated and I need not rebut them at this time.
- It has been a pleasure discussing this matter with you, I look forward to any future interactions we may have as you seem to be a thorough, diligent, and dedicated individual.
- All the best from me, Hambuster1, and the 596. Hambuster1 (talk) 19:05, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
