Bongo Star Search moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Bongo Star Search. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 05:39, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for this! I figured this article was notable because there's at least a handful of articles about people for whom it says their careers were launched after they were contestants on this show, but it makes sense that the policy is that notability should be based on number/quality of sources.
- I don't know that I, myself, am all that interested in fleshing out this page, but I hope that by putting something at/near Bongo Star Search, someone who's more knowledgeable and cares more about this corner of popular culture might have a starting point, rather than beginning with a blank slate.
- Again, thanks! Jacobdgm (talk) 16:09, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Columbia River, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Army Corps of Engineers was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:54, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Links
Hello. Noticed you're doing many links in articles, so please be aware of WP:OVERLINK which states, from on high (or high), that Wikipedia should not link to very common words or major cities, states, and countries. Also note that things such as named oceans, rivers, etc. are uppercased. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 16:31, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi - thanks for this! I was aware of overlinking in the abstract, but had struggled to relocate this page when I was looking for it a while ago. This is quite helpful, and I'll adjust my threshold going forward.
- And thanks for the nudge about capitalization - I just discovered that the Chicago Manual of Style, for one, recommends "Atlantic and Pacific Oceans" rather than "Atlantic and Pacific oceans". Is this what you were referring to, or did you notice something else? I learned something new today - again, thanks! Jacobdgm (talk) 19:21, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks. The Wikipedia manual of style is used here. In this case, named oceans and other properly named geographical features are uppercased (Niagara Falls, Mackenzie River, Gobi Desert, etc.). The ultimate is Wikipedia uppercases named astronomical bodies, such as the Moon, Sun, Earth, etc. I'm still suprised when I notice magazines and other styles lowercasing "moon" and "sun" for example (what do they think that giant nuclear furnace in the sky is named?). Thanks for your good work here. Randy Kryn (talk) 23:27, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
