Can you explain, in your own words, why your edits were promotional?
I thought I was just updating incorrect and out of date information on the page. The Museum I removed is no longer in existence and has been replaced by the charitable organisation as detailed. I'm guessing the links are what flagged the edit as promotional, however they seemed to be in keeping with other links to organisations on that page.
What is your relationship with the subjects you have been editing about?
I am Head of Operations at Bishopsteignton Heritage, Charity Commission No. 1169410 and also on the digital advisory group of the Devon Museums Group which is supported by Museum Development South West, an organisation backed by the UK Arts Council.
If you are unblocked, what topic areas will you edit in?
I would specifically be keeping the Museums in Devon Wiki page up to date and also anything to do with the Parish of Bishopsteignton, for which as a Parish Councillor I am bound by a code of conduct.
Is there anything else that may be helpful to your unblock request?
Happy to take advice about making my role in the above areas as useful to the Wiki Community as possible.

- Thank you for getting back to me.
- I have changed the name on the account to reflect me as a person rather than any organisation I may represent.
- I have read the payment disclosure and conflict of interest policies and guidelines.
- I am Head of Operations - a part funded, part volunteer post - at not for profit "Bishopsteignton Heritage", Charity Commission No. 1169410 and also volunteer on the digital advisory group of the Devon Museums Group which is supported by Museum Development South West, an organisation backed by the UK Arts Council. I am also currently a Councillor at Bishopsteignton Parish Council - another voluntary post. I am also a freelance software developer. None of my paid or voluntary duties with these or any other organisation require me to make edits to Wikipedia, however I am well placed to keep some of the information displayed on the platform up to date. Happy to declare this on my user page once unblocked.
- It appears the edit that caused my block is still published on the List of museums in Devon page
- The edit included removing obsolete information and adding up to date information. The up to date information did include external links to Bishopsteignton Heritage which I am happy to remove from the "Name" column to eventually be replaced with a link to a wiki page for the organisation once written and a link in the "Summary" column of the same page where I will change the anchor text to "Information" in keeping with other external links on the page.
- I notice some of the other existing external links elsewhere on the page go to the devonmuseums.net website. This is the official website of the Devon Museums Group that I am advising them about, as declared above, changes to which may need to be reflected on this page - once again, I am well placed to do this in a timely fashion.
- The only pages that I am aware of at present that I would have any interest in creating, editing, keeping up to date would be this page, the Bishopsteignton page, and a future page dedicated to Bishopsteignton Heritage. Possible exceptions would be if any of the other Museums within the Devon Museums Group required some assistance with their entries which would be a service I would provide voluntarily and in keeping with Wikipedia policies and guidelines.
