Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, Jaq78. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Jegs High Performance, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. • a frantic turtle 🐢 12:10, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

Improving sourcing and notability
To help address the notability and sourcing concerns, I’d like to propose adding additional independent sources about JEGS Performance as a company (beyond primary sources like the company website). Potential additions could include third-party coverage of the company’s operations, history, or role in the automotive aftermarket industry. I’m happy to suggest specific sources here for review if that would be helpful. Jaq78 (talk) 17:44, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I’d like to take a more specific approach and focus on improving sourcing.
- For example, I’ve found third-party coverage such as Performance Car News and NHRA sources that may be relevant.
- Before proposing specific edits, could someone advise on:
- • what types of sources would be considered strong enough for notability
- • which sections of the article would benefit most from additional sourcing
- I’m happy to suggest specific additions here for review if that would be helpful. Jaq78 (talk) 12:17, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- The correct place to post a message like this would be the article's talk page. Well, really, the place to post a message like this would be nowhere, because it's vague and purposeless AI-slop. If you've been using an AI chatbot to communicate, you should really stop that. Buddy Gripple (talk)
Do not edit the JEGS article directly
I've reverted your additions to the JEGS article. As an editor with a financial COI, you should not be editing the article directly, unless it's something really egregious (e.g. if someone edits the article to say "the CEO of JEGS is a Nazi pedophile," feel free to revert that). You should use the article talk page to request edits. When you do, you should use the edit COI template: Template:Edit_COI. WIthout this, editors won't know that you have an edit request in place. In regards to your comments above about improving sourcing and notability, you'll need to make specific edit requests, such as "in the ABC section, change XYZ to DEF, citation GHI". If you have questions about what constitutes a reliable source, you can find out about them at WP:RS. If you have questions about what constitutes notability, please consult WP:GNG and, since this is a company, WP:NCORP. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 13:01, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Jaq78 Hello! Edit requests are intended to be placed at the talk page of the article in question, not your personal talk page. I'm going to go ahead and move your request to Talk:JEGS High Performance and evaluate it there. Cheers, DiscoursesonLivvy (talk · contribs) 21:46, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the guidance. That makes sense.
- I’ll move forward by using the article’s talk page and submitting specific edit requests with the COI template, rather than broader proposals.
- I’ll start by addressing sourcing issues, including replacing the broken acquisition reference with a working third-party source.
- Appreciate the help. Jaq78 (talk) 11:33, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
