Hello, I'm Cordless Larry. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of BBC News Arabic. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - I see that you reinstated this link, so please take note of the above message (external links don't belong in the body of an article - see WP:NOELBODY). Cordless Larry (talk) 07:35, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry Larry - I am new to this. I have tried again and added it only to external links. I hope I got it right this time! JerryTimmins (talk) 09:48, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, that's fine. Another option would be to use it as a source for something in the article and cite it as a reference. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:44, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help. I have a question about another topic.
- I'd like to see an article about the BBC's Caribbean Service, which is mentioned on wikipedia but there is no explanatory article about it. The Caribbean Service was re-lanched in 1988 after many years with no service to the region from the BBC. (This was a successor to and different from Caribbean Voices.) I was the launch Editor. I've been advised that I could create an article but am concerned that because I was involved, the article might not be acceptable....although I would try and write it objectively and factually. What do you think? JerryTimmins (talk) 16:08, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with the advice you were given at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Requesting a new article - you're not precluded from creating a draft and submitting it for review because of having a COI. Cordless Larry (talk) 06:59, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you - I will get to it once I have got a bit more experience JerryTimmins (talk) 07:53, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
