Hey there. I noticed that you revered my changes to the article Kakrapar Atomic Power Station. It was my mistake that I didn't add an edit message. However, I did preview my changes in the Visual Editor (couldn't view through the preview button since I hit publish by mistake). However, the changes I made were mainly to update the articles and remove incontinences with ground realities as well add better sources. I'm not sure how disputed work on Wikipedia but I urge you to reconsider your decision.

PS: I am relatively new to Wikipedia and not sure how 'User Talk' works or it's ultimate purpose. I'm not sure if it appropriate or within standards or guidelines to point things like this in User Talk. However, I saw no better way of contacting you on this.

Hello. I am posting this because you seem to be unaware of the way the United Kingdom classified its overseas territories of the British Empire. Specifically, the usage of the word colony. A colony was never a catch-all word. Rather, there were five distinct classifications of British Commonwealth territories. Colony was only one of the five. None of the territories in any of the other four classifications were colonies.

Essentially, there were Dominions, Self-governing Territories, Colonies, Protectorates, and Mandates. Only an uninformed person wpuld refer to a British Mandate Territory as a Protectorate, only an uninformed person would refer to a Self-governing territory as a Colony. A territory could be transferred from one category to another, such as the East African Protectorate becoming the Colony of Kenya, however correct use of terms describes exactly who was ruling, whether the territory had its own standing army, how people were referred to etc.

At no point in history was (Southern) Rhodesia ever legally listed as a "colony". From the 1880s it was actually a private enterprise of the British South Africa Company. From 1923 it became a Self-governing Territory.(Though, interestingly, it was placed under "Dominions" in official United Kingdom documentation.) (Southern) Rhodesia had its own Prime Minister, own Constitution, own Military, own Police Force, own Passports. Residents were referred to as "Rhodesians", not "British colonists in Rhodesia". When War was declared colonies automatically joined their Colonial Leaders in the War. In 1939, (Southern) Rhodesia did NOT automatically join the War. Like South Africa, Australia, Canada they had to hold Parliamentary Sessions, and decide to independently declare war on Germany. Rhodesia is referred to as a country in official government documents from at least the 1950s. or Please, stop referring to it as a colony.~2026-37475-67 (talk) 08:47, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

There are multiple sources on the discussion page of Southern Rhodesia. These would need to be incorporated into the relevant articles. I see I have now been reported and warned, simply for correcting factual errors, and trying to make articles(and a disambiguation page) accurate. Your changes here added a contradiction (10% and 15%), and did not appear properly, because you inserted text into a citation. Ideally, please find a source better than "Putin says so." Dear Jessica, thank you for your attention to the article about Russian sportsman from which you removed the date of his death as unsourced. I am with Wikipedia for more than 20 years, most of them as a sysop, so I know the rules. However, sometimes there is a contradiction between the rules and the real life. Mister Potyakin was a father of my friend and colleague, she is mentioned in the article about him in Russian Wikipedia. She reported his death at her Facebook which is in friends-only mode as is the case for the most of oppositionally thinking Russian people under current political circumstance. For the same reasons this death was ignored by Russian media. There is definitely no possible open sources for the fact and date of his death but still he is dead, I can send you screenshots of the daughter's memorial posts. Now what? You can leave him alive in the article in en.wiki for an indefinite time (likely forever) in the strict accordance with the rules and guidelines of Wikipedia. Thanks MSGJ - I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt here, but the original edit was unsourced and unexplained, and the subsequent change was only described as "per his daughter", again unsourced. Not great. Ultimately I didn't think it was worth arguing over. I believe it is true that the man has died, based on the above response, but I wish it had been handled differently. Hi Jessicapierce! I noticed that you recently made an edit at H. D. Smith & Co. and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism.
