National varieties of English

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Urban resilience, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. TiggerJay(talk) 16:17, 10 February 2025 (UTC)

Photo sources

At least two of the photographs you use in Draft:Andrea Valsecchi also appear in the marble-bags.com website or the Instagram output of "marblebags". How do you think this has come about? -- Hoary (talk) 12:30, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

I requested the photos directly from Andrea Valsecchi, and he provided them with permission to use them. I’ll ensure the necessary permissions are properly documented on Commons. Do let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to clarify. Jessroman (talk) 04:15, 15 February 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for the quick response. But first, NB that it's the copyright-holders themselves who have to contact Commons for this purpose. And secondly, are you and Valsecchi acquainted in some way? -- Hoary (talk) 11:16, 15 February 2025 (UTC)

Permission for the images have already been granted and properly documented on Wikimedia Commons. As for your question, I have no personal acquaintance with Andrea Valsecchi. If you have any concerns regarding the permissions, I suggest referring to the official documentation on Commons. Jessroman (talk) 17:42, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Replying to your email

The improvements you have made are not enough. Among the 19 sources in the draft, only one has significant coverage, which is a magazine feature, but the article is more about Valsecchi Marbles rather than Andrea Valsecchi himself. The reliability of the magazine is also questionable and there is a possibility that the feature was a paid placement, especially since there seems to be no other coverage about this BLP. If it were up to me, I would decline the draft again and if I were you, I would consider working on a different subject instead. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 19:03, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for your response. However, Your claim that the only notable source is a "magazine feature" that may be a paid placement is speculative and unfounded. If you believe a specific source does not meet reliability standards, I would appreciate a more objective explanation rather than general skepticism. If this draft is to be declined again, I expect a decision based on Wikipedia’s actual guidelines, not subjective speculation. Jessroman (talk) 20:49, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
An article needs at least three reliable, independent sources with significant coverage to be considered notable according to Wikipedia’s guidelines. Currently you have zero among the 19 in your draft, and this is not subjective speculation. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 20:59, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Andrea Valsecchi (March 25)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Superboilles was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Un articolo biografico del Corriere o de La Stampa è il tipo che può dimostrare la notorietà dell'argomento.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
