By the way, my cousin played for the team for 4 or 5 years... I watched quite a few games... I am kinda sad that they aren't blowing up the league again this year. He played DIII in Lake Forest now.

Anyways. The reason why I am not listing it as Lost SC Final is that it is now the same as losing the league final. I debated about listing it as Lost GOJHL Final, but to put GOJHL in the same line again is superfluous. Also, if you scroll down on the page... I do list the Sutherland Cup results in the "Sutherland Cup Appearances" section.

Bear with me here... if you have any questions or suggestions... just talk to me about it... I've been doing this alone for three years... but I am willing to hear another opinion. BTW, if you know any Sugar Kings or Polar Kings stats prior to 1971... or Sr. stats... I could use them. DMighton (talk) 12:12, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

St. Finnan's Basilica

Thanks for adding so many photos. I looked at some and they are a huge improvement. At St. Finnan's Basilica, you worked so hard creating the article, then added that low-quality image. It's pretty easy to tweak old photos, then upload them as a new file. Have a look at some of my uploads and let me know if you'd like to learn to tweak old photos. Cheers. Church Interiors

Hi JFVoll,

I've been doing a bit of documentation of the churches in the Windsor-Essex area (and some in Chatham-Kent), and I noticed that you have quite a few church interiors uploaded. I was wondering - did you take those prior to/after Mass, or were you able to access the churches on non-Mass days? I've done a bit of interior photography, but given your success I was wondering if you had any best practices.   Chris Woodrich (talk) 15:45, 10 July 2025 (UTC)

Hi Chirs,
I've been appreciating the photos you've been taking, it has inspired me to upgrade my camera.
As for your question, most of the pictures I have taken were from after Mass, some before but the majority after Mass. I personally tend to be fussy when taking an interior photo that the lights are on and that there's no one in the photo. Sometimes it will be like 10 mins after Mass before I can take a photo. One of the ways I have so many interior photos is that I will attend multiple Masses in a day (actually in Windsor, I attended 4 Masses in a row).
On a side note, you should check out St. Michael/Immaculate Heart in Windsor. It's a 50's church, but the main altar and ceiling are covered in 50's style mosaics (the church was a German congregation, to the ceiling has German). It has been one of my favorite churches to visit in the Diocese of London. If you're ever in the Stratford area, Kinkora has a beautiful church (even the exterior brickwork is quite ornate).
Jason. JFVoll (talk) 22:59, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. I'm not sure if they'd be happy with a huge camera in the building - let alone me not having attended Mass since 2007 - but I can certainly see about it. Thanks for the recommendations; I want to make a day trip to the Stratford area, as it's such a beautiful town, so Kinkora would be right up my alley.
For the quality of images, one big thing is post editing. I use Lightroom to straighten lines, correct camera distortion, and play with the lighting to bring the detail out of the shadows. It definitely helps keep things beautiful. I've also mostly been following the light, to avoid having to shoot a building that's in shadows - that's a sure way to make the sky too bright.   Chris Woodrich (talk) 14:10, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Howdy. Just headed back from Stratford, and you were right about St. Patrick's in Kinkora. Gorgeous. Wish the wires weren't in the way, but I may be able to digitally remove them.  Chris Woodrich (talk) 22:43, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
    • Uploaded one so far. Stratford trip pics are taking a bit (mind, I had 2k other images to deal with before that). Looks like I only missed you by a couple days! Shame they removed the large tree, but it did allow a much better image of the building.  Chris Woodrich (talk) 17:15, 14 August 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2024–25 PJHL season, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Orillia Terriers was added.
