Romani Holocaust

Hello! I noticed that you deleted reliably sourced content from the article Romani Holocaust, I wanted to explain why I reverted your edit (that had the summary that it was sloppily written.) Just because something is sloppily written is not a reason to delete reliably sourced content. It's better to try to fix the problem or add a maintenance tag for clarification or for copy editing, that will alert other editors that work is needed on the article. Thanks and best, Netherzone (talk) 01:06, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

NZ editor survey and strategy

Kia ora, Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand are hoping to learn more about Wikimedians in Aotearoa through a quick, anonymous survey, and your response would be greatly appreciated. We're also welcoming community feedback on developing our strategic plan to see us through to 2030. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:07, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1989 Hurricane Hunters NOAA 42 incident, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Registration. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Loganair 670A aircraft name

It is listed as the aircraft name here and is visible on the aircraft fuselage in the forward section where an aircraft name is usually listed. You know it can be the name of the aircraft and the aircraft livery name at the same time, right? It is not like there is a contradiction in it being the aircraft livery name and aircraft name at the same time?

It can be the aircraft name and the aircraft livery name at the same time. Zaptain United (talk) 04:10, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
I will point to this example of G-BPED, a Boeing 757 which also bore the Kogutki Łowickie livery and had the same name as G-BNMT (https://www.airhistory.net/photo/357950/G-BPED). The Worldtail artworks were commissioned by BA and designed by different artists, and the name of a given artwork and its artist was appended on the aircraft. In the photo you provided, the artist's signature is at the rear of the fuselage in front of the horizontal stabilizers. In the photo I provided, the artist's signature is at the rear of the fuselage under the horizontal stabilizers.
For example, some photos of BA aircraft in the Animals and Trees livery: (747-400 https://www.airhistory.net/photo/519814/G-BNLZ), (757-200 https://www.airhistory.net/photo/771484/G-CPEL), (777-200 https://www.airhistory.net/photo/316998/G-VIIK), (737-400 https://www.airhistory.net/photo/819729/G-DOCD). All of them have the same name on the front of the aircraft, and the artist's name painted next to the artwork.
General style conventions in aviation were that no two aeroplanes in service have the same name at the same time, thus I consider "Koguty Lowickie" inapplicable as an aircraft name if another Worldtail aircraft has the same name. Previously in the Landor livery, BA planes were named after cities, rivers or castles. G-BPED was formerly named Blair Castle (https://www.airhistory.net/photo/546077/G-BPED) before the Worldtail scheme. Frankly, the Worldtail scheme was a special case in aviation history where an airline tried to get worldwide appeal and utterly failed at doing so.
As for examples where a given Worldtail livery is featured only on one aircraft, I count them as part of the Worldtail scheme too, and thus I don't consider the name of that livery as the name of the aircraft. And I know that the livery names are put in the name field on AirHistory, but Wikipedia is not AirHistory in that it is much more stringent about things. Pohewatanga (talk) 04:48, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
In the meantime I have noted down that G-BNMT bore the Koguty Lowickie livery in the body text, to ensure that it is pointed out. Pohewatanga (talk) 04:50, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
well, I think you should take it to the talk page since the aircraft name has been on the article for a while. Zaptain United (talk) 04:50, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
I've put it in the talk page for the article. For now, one thing I will say is that a lot of information gets left in articles for a while before someone figures it erroneous and changes it. That is part of why Wikipedia doesn't consider itself a reliable source. Pohewatanga (talk) 05:03, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
