Standard message about possible conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, KalloniEditor7. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Kalloni, Grevena, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. P.S. This is the standardized message I mentioned in reply to your question at my Talk page. Mathglot (talk) 01:38, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

Dear Mathglot
I am not a member of any organisation or employee of anyone associated with the locality. I am a retired guy trying to help out by organising some structures for the recording of cultural heritage, local history and ethnography.
I have an interest in those pursuits, but I am not writing about " about [my]self, [my] family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors".
I am also a retired lawyer with a Phd and academic past in law - so I do see and understand a conflict of interest when other people are blind to it. I have no conflict of interest. KalloniEditor7 (talk) 01:44, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, that fulfills the requirement afaic; you're good to go! (And it's also good to have it asked & answered here, that way if anyone wonders about it, it's here in black and white. (Well, 0's and 1's; but you know what I mean...) Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 01:49, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
Oooh, "academic past in law" – any history or philo of? Could use your help, if interested, in a bunch of related topics. Would love someone to look over Pure Theory of Law, Hans Kelsen, Legal positivism, and more. I created the redirect Norm (law), which goes elsewhere when you click it – that's what a redirect is – the page for the redirect itself is at Norm (law)Norm (law). If you wanted to turn the redirect 'Norm (law)' into an article, I can coach you through the Wikipedia-part of it, with you providing the content, backed by your expertise. General guidance is at Help:Your first article. By the way, about what those parentheses are doing there, see WP:PARENDIS. I am also very interested in other legal systems, but with no background in them, I first have to build myself a glossary of terms that I run into when reading the sources; see for example, Glossary of French criminal law, and Glossary of Brazil investigative terms (and the larger, WP:Brazil/Glossary); the first, especially, is the tip of an iceberg. There are some arcane, but interesting articles I've revamped, like Preterintention, where a lot more *could* be said, but it is *such* a niche topic, that I don't know if it *should* be said. Interested in any of these? Mathglot (talk) 02:08, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi Mathglot
if you have a specific question, I am happy to help out But the last thing in the world I would want to do now is to write about law I have had enough of that and am moving on to other pastures ~2025-43990-61 (talk) 02:36, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
Got it. Care to share any pastures? I could maybe recommend articles to you, or WP:WikiProjects. By the way, don't forget to log in; those numbers the end of your post above are your signature, and means you were logged out so it used a temporary numeric id to identify you. Normally, once you are logged in, you stay logged in for a year. If you switch between devices, maybe the last one wasn't logged in. Mathglot (talk) 02:43, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
