Indianapolis Colts : Controversies

Hey man, we aren't going to get anywhere if all we do is just revert each others' edits back and forth, so lets get this figured out.

Despite your claims, the audio calls from both the Colts and Pats radio networks of the incident in dispute simply do not support them, which you can actually review for yourself via PatriotsPlanet (Pats) and Patsfans (Colts). What happened was that CBS uses microphones on different channels for different uses, (the announcers would be on one, crowd on another (perhaps a few channels), another for the ref, another for the sideline reporter, and so on). This would be the standard for all the networks covering a sporting event. Now, all these channels feed into a mixing board (this also allows CBS to lower the sound on the crowd for example so that the announcers can be better heard) before it gets sent out worldwide.

Now what happened was that somewhere in the system, a channel that was picking up the crowd noise for CBS had a snafu and messed up for lack of a better word, which caused the sound in question. Because it happened before it reached the mixing board, the audio feed for the announcers was not affected, which was why they were able to continue without interruption. To further back this, CBS had a similar problem happen during the Miami - New England later on in the season. . IU2002 (talk) 00:56, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.
