This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in politics, ethnic relations, and conflicts involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, or both. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

Additionally, the following restriction(s) apply to this topic area:

  • Only extended-confirmed editors may make edits related to the topic area, though editors who are not extended-confirmed may post constructive comments and make edit requests related to articles within the topic area on article talk pages. Should disruption occur on article talk pages, administrators may take enforcement actions against disruptive editors and/or apply page protection on article talk pages. However, non-extended-confirmed editors may not make edits to internal project discussions related to the topic area, even on article talk pages. Internal project discussions include, but are not limited to, Articles for deletion nominations, WikiProjects, requests for comment, requested moves, and noticeboard discussions.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Extended confirmed restrictions

Please be aware that all articles related to politics, ethnic relations, and conflicts involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, or both—broadly construed and explicitly including the Armenian genocide—are subject to an extended confirmed restriction. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 17:40, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Oh, sorry, I didn't know about that. Does extended confirmed mean 500 edits? Lapahafffe (talk) 17:53, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Yes and no worries, but please don't restore edits like this either before reaching extended confirmed ; the restriction says Armenia or Azerbaijan. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 17:56, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Also see WP:GAME and WP:ECREXPLAIN, reaching extended confirmed should occur naturally without gaming the system. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 17:59, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Okay thanks Lapahafffe (talk) 18:00, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Excuse me, but would adding a picture to Lavash (of Lavash) constitute a breach? Lapahafffe (talk) 18:06, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Oddly, food articles may sometimes fall under the broadly construed restriction. I think because of this section, Lavash may be covered by GS/AA. @The Bushranger would you mind clarifying please so I don't give a wrong answer? KhndzorUtogh (talk) 18:31, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
In a vacuum, I'd say that just the history section should fall under GS/AA, and just adding a picture wouldn't be an issue. In the reality we edit in, though, I see ongoing ethnically-themed disruption over the last few months, so the whole article's going under ECP. - The Bushranger One ping only 18:36, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
  • It seems clear, from your editing behavior at User:Lapahafffe/Azerbaijanis in Tbilisi among others, that you are attempting to "speed-run" gaining extended confirmed status. This is gaming the system and is not allowed. The ability for your account to become automatically extended confirmed has accordingly been revoked; to gain XC, you will need to manually request it at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Extended confirmed once you have reached 500 non-gaming edits. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:57, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
Excuse me but how the hell does that work? Does me doing multiple edits on my article after another now constitute a rule breach? The reason I was doing multiple edits there that seemed off was because I was doing the edits while on my phone, which is why when I finished one I had to go out, save the edit and then do the next one, which is why e.g. when I was editing on my PC right before that, I could easily make big edits. If my goal was gaming the system I would've long split that 5,000 character edit into 50 edits maybe, or even other edits , before that, which I could've easily split when I was editing on my PC, but I didn't because, as afforementioned, that was never my goal. I'm asking you to please lift this as it is absolutely unreasoned and I don't know if someone false reported this to you or if you noticed it and, out of good faith I'll assume, took action, but I did not attempt gaming the system.
