ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:58, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

January 2026

Information icon Hi LiamGM! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Imperial College London and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Aloneinthewild (talk) 17:18, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

I'd recommend discussing the changes you are making to the lead paragraph to the talk page to gain consensus with other editors Aloneinthewild (talk) 17:20, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for your diligence and comments. It was an oversight to designate it as Minor. There are huge gaps in a very thin article that I am incrementally addressing. However, I stand by everything I said. All assertions are defended by current college citations and based on my personal knowledge as an ICL academic for 37 years. With respect, I will revert and debate with any editor who has any issues. I have a lot more to add to the article but won't make the same mistake again. Thank you for caring. LiamGM (talk) 17:37, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Good to have you onboard LiamGM, beware that citations that come from the College are primary sources. Far better to have independent sources. Which areas do you feel there are huge gaps? I ask as the main article is quite well sourced but there many sub articles in Category:Imperial_College_London which could be expanded Aloneinthewild (talk) 17:44, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for the that. The 2 articles are not only incomplete but fossilised. My next target is to say more about Teaching. For example there is no mention of the Teaching Excellence Framework, no mention that teaching staff are obliged to gain a FHEA, the emergence of using Teaching Fellows, internal Teaching awards withing the College, Faculty and the Guild of Students etc. LiamGM (talk) 17:55, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
