I reverted your edit to metal not so much that your are wrong as because of a long history. This involved one editor insisting that E_f, QM etc are irrelevant & only 19th century definitions & the periodic table matter, versus multiple others using the (now) accepted QM definition that is in modern physics/chemistry texts.
A more gentle wordsmithing with E_f still up front as dominant would be OK; not the 19th century approach of the rest of the 1st paragraph. At the moment this is a case of let sleeping dogs lie Ldm1954 (talk) 02:12, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
