Goodday Marchjuly, I'm Junghiano, an extendedconfirmed user of Wikipedia. Right now I can't access my usual device where my password is saved, so I have to write as an anonymous user. I'm doing this in a discussion where I've been mentioned, I have declared to be Junghiano, so I hope that there's no problem with this because currently I have no way to use my account but I'll have soon. I've got a pair of questions about Emanuele6's actions.
First, he created the discussion with this title: "On User:Junghiano's bizarre transcriptions of heterosyllabic consonant clusters (+more)". I don't think that a user is allowed to entitle a public discussion like that: not only he claimed that certain edits of mine are "bizarre", but he also named "me" as if I were the only user who makes such edits while most users do. I may add that the discussion isn't about "heterosyllabic consonant clusters", because it's he who claims that they're "heterosyllabic", the discussion is to establish if they are nor not, so if we want it to be neutral (NPOV) it should be "[sC]/[zC] clusters". So, is it possible to change the title of the discussion (and the link in the Teahouse) to "On transcriptions of [sC]/[zC] clusters (+more)"?
Second, this discussion was created because of this: months ago he edited some phonetic transcriptions in a way which he considers the only correct, and I, who mainly correct wrong phonetic transcriptions, restored the previous consensual version. Then he not only reverted my restorations but also scrolled my edits to undo similar corrections I made in the past, and if I try restoring the previuos consensual versions he threatens to report me to the admins. Brief parenthesis: in years I've been editing on Wikipedia I have never ever dneo anything wrong, never ever been blocked or even just warned by admins, never ever, more important, been threatened by another user, I've always had only good relationships with other users; parenthesis closed. My question is: isn't "he" the one who should be reported for edit warring, instead? He made edits which changed a previous tacit consensus and which are challenged by me, I only tried restoring the versions existing before his edits, so it should be "he" the user acting against the rules of Wikipedia, or am I wrong?
I've asked these questions to you because you're the user who wrote a message in Emanuele6's talk page about his edit in the Teahouse. Please, if you're able to give me the answers which I'm looking for, let me know as soon as you can. Hi ~126;2026-43211-03. I'm not a Wikipedia administrator so I don't have the ability to take direct action against anyone's Wikipedia account. I also don't know anything about Italian have thus have no opinion on who's correct in the things you're discussing regarding it. I only pointed out TALKHEADPOV to Emanuele6 after seeing an edit they made at the Wikipedia Teahouse. I personally think Emanuele6's choice of a section heading was inappropriate and advised them of as much; however, I can't make them change it. Since the heading is specifically directed at you, you may if you want bring it up for discussion at one of the administrator's noticeboards (either WP:AN or WP:ANI) and ask Wikipedia administrators to take a look at it. If you do decide to do that, though, I strongly suggest you read the instructions at the top each noticeboards page to make sure you file the report correcting and understand what doing so means. I also suggest you take a look at WP:BOOMERANG and WP:ANIADVICE to get a better understanding of what's going to happen if you do file a report. FWIW, nobody wins an WP:EDITWAR. It's wrong regardless of how right you might believe you are or whether the other side started it. At some point, one side needs to stop and seek administrator assistance (e.g., WP:AN3) because back and forth reverting is not good for Wikipedia. Edit wars in which both sides show no signs of slowing down often are ended by both sides being warned and sometimes even WP:BLOCKed by a Wikipedia administrator.

Any report you file at an administrator's noticeboard should focus on the other user's behavior and not be an attempt to try and get others (i.e., Wikipedia administrators) to resolve the content dispute the two of your are currently having about how to best transcribe Italian. You can provide WP:DIFFs (links) to comments or posts that you feel provide evidence of the inappropriateness of the other user's behavior, but don't just simply copy and paste content from another page onto the report. The content dispute you two are having is going to need to be resolved per WP:DISPUTERESOLUTION. If you try to do this at an administration noticeboard, one or more administrators will likely tell you (perhaps strongly) that's what you need to do.

Finally, you might need to decide whether this matter is important enough for you to keep pursuing it or whether at some point it's better to move on to something else. I can't tell you to keep going or to stop per se, but we all have to pick our battles and which hill we want to defend to the end when it comes to Wikipedia. Sometimes no matter how right we know we are, we just need to move on to something else when things seem like they're never going to be resolved as we might want. The above is the only advice I can give you regarding this. I don't mind you posting here if you have questions, but I'd prefer you'd refrain from using my user talk page as another place for you to continue your dispute with Emanuele6. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:24, 6 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi Kenama5847478. Each new user is, I beleive, assigned a mentor when they register they're account. Mentors are just WP:VOLUNTEERs just like any other WP:WIKIPEDIAN. Mentors can try to answer any questions a new user might have, but they have no special authority when it comes to things related to Wikipedia. Do you have any questions about Wikipedia?
