Image copyright problem with Image:Olib1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Olib1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 13:34, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

I am having a dispute with two other editors of the page Olib, Croatia, about the main photo for the entry. The editors are Boba 99 and Drmies. The photo olib3.jpg was there from 2006 - 2022 from when I first created the entry. I chose it due to Wikipedia's mission of being an online encyclopedia. This photo has historical significance as the first settlement of 100 people who in 1476 fled certain death in their home village of Vrlika by an invasion of Ottomans in present-day Croatia in 1476. Olib was populated over the centuries by the descendants of these settlers who exist by the tens of thousands. I am direct descendant of these original settlers with me being the first in my family not to be born in Olib in 500 years. I am guessing Boba 99 and Drmies are using this photo as a marketing tool to entice people to visit and pay for their short-term rentals on Olib. Or they could be real estate agents too. Or I could be wrong. I'm surprised at their insistence on using this photo and persistence on replacing it so quickly. I have invited Boba 99 to discuss this but have heard nothing from them.
- Or you could be edit-warring and failing to discuss matters on the talk page in lieu of issuing vaguely-threatening messages to Drmies. All so you can present a picture of some random dock that doesn't seem to really have any connexion to the town. I'm inclined to agree with Drmies that the image does the article a massive disservice. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 02:50, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am not, tbh. I am not the only one who didn’t use the Talk page to resolve this. It’s actually my error as I wasn’t aware of the talk pages use to communicate with other editors. I was trying to use the edit comment for that. I don’t come here as often as I should. Now that I’m aware of the preferences for the infobox, I’ll abide by it. Thanks for your input. Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 02:50, 23 September 2025 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Olib shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. An edit war occurs when two or more users begin repeatedly reverting content on a page in a back-and-forth fashion to restore it back to how they think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree with their changes. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or undo the edits made by other editors when your changes are reverted. Instead, please use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. The best practice at this time is to stop editing the page and to discuss the disagreements, issues, and concerns at-hand with the other editors involved in the dispute. Wikipedia provides a page that helps to detail how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard, or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.
Continuing to engage in further edit warring behavior can result in being blocked from editing Wikipedia—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your demeanor, behavior, or conduct indicate that you intend to continue repeatedly making reverts to the page. - Hi, I am not and wish to cooperate. @Boba 99’s photo becomes pixilated when viewing on a 10.9 inch tablet and a 16 inch laptop. Do you have a better quality photo? Thank you. Matijaolib (talk) 15:25, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
