Hello, I'm Gurkubondinn. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of cities in Kurdistan Region, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The source was handwiki.org, which is a WP:USERGENERATED source. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 12:16, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- If you write it in ChatGPT, you will see the sources are reliable. However, the sources do not work when I cite them. Mohammed Alan (talk) 12:17, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- Did you use ChatGPT to write the text that you submitted? We cannot use WP:USERGENERATED sources on Wikipedia, you need a WP:RELIABLE source, per Wikipedia's standards. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 12:18, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- I didn’t use it to write the text, however, I used it for the sources. Mohammed Alan (talk) 12:19, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. It is also pretty bad at that, but sometimes it can find good sources. I would recommend using a search engine like DuckDuckGo (duckduckgo
.com ) as well (google is pretty bad these days). --Gurkubondinn (talk) 12:21, 21 March 2026 (UTC)- Thanks for telling me. I’ll use DuckDuckGo and cite sources next time. Mohammed Alan (talk) 12:22, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- You can still use ChatGPT to look for sources (you'll still always need to read the source yourself though, no matter where you found it). I just meant that you shouldn't only rely on ChatGPT, but also use a search engine like duckduckgo
.com as well. In my experience, DDG is far better than ChatGPT. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 12:25, 21 March 2026 (UTC)- Ok. Mohammed Alan (talk) 12:25, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

- You also shouldn't ask ChatGPT if a source is reliable or not, it does a pretty bad job of representing our policies and frequently tells users that unreliable sources are reliable. Instead read WP:RS yourself to get a good idea of what we count as "reliable sources" for Wikipedia. It's also a good idea to check if a source that you want to use is on the WP:RSP list (but a source not being there doesn't mean it is unreliable). 12:23, 21 March 2026 (UTC) --Gurkubondinn (talk) 12:23, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Alan Qassab

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Alan Qassab, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Zygmeyer (talk) 16:57, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- What have I done wrong? There is nothing incorrect about this. Also, it isn’t my first article, I have made Qushtapa, Penjwen and Taqtaq also. Mohammed Alan (talk) 17:08, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- I haven’t really known what I’ve done. Can you explain to me? An AI gave me the sources. Mohammed Alan (talk) 17:15, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- There were two issues: the article read like a list of qualifications, and the sources didn't provide substantial coverage. For an article to exist, there have to be multiple independent sources that provide substantial coverage. Even if information is true, it has to meet these rules for an article to exist. The sources on the article just listed Mr. Qassab's degrees and positions, rather than talking at length about who he is and what he does.
- Additionally the tone of the article was promotional, and read similarly to a resume. Zygmeyer (talk) 17:45, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- I am very sorry. I didn’t mean to make a promotion, in my opinion, I thought the article was great. It turns out I’ve done things wrong. I’ll work better next time. Mohammed Alan (talk) 17:47, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
