Dear Oemtom, You recently reverted my change to the MPEG LA article, saying that "MPEG LA" is not an abbreviation. I must admit, that I'm not 100% sure, but I've found some[1] sources[2] saying that "LA" stands for "licensing administration[3]" and/or "licensing association[4]]". They are mainly mentioned regarding licensing of MPEG codecs. Wouldn't this suggest that "MPEG LA" might be the abbreviation for "Motion Pictures Experts Group Licensing Administration/Association"?

Dear Rooker,

Than you for your message. Yes, I did revert your change. In the “Talk” section of the MPEG LA article, under “Acronym,” there is an entry by Sam Dutton on October 8, 2010 where he confirmed with MPEG LA that its name does not stand for anything other than the name of the Company. I hope this explains why I reverted your change.
