bibliography on blp article?

uh… so i came across this article that has a ‘bibliography’ section at the end and as far as i know, that isn’t supposed to be there… can someone hopefully more experienced than me take a look and maybe give advice on what to do, as someone who has literally never done anything related to referencing things on wp? ☆ peach (yap with me ☆) 01:37, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- A bibliography section is optional and, in this case, is simply translated from the Italian article. It would be better if the works mentioned in the bibliography were incorporated as proper references adding to the body of the article. And it's also possible that someone has bootlegged books into the bibliography that have nothing to do with the subject. Normally, one would treat it similarly to an "external links" section.

- thank you and sorry for the late reply!! most of my concerns came from the fact that there was also some phrases in the article such as “from an early age his musical talent did not go unnoticed by his father Leopold”, “ He never mentioned the tragic memories that indelibly marked his life”, as these sounded sort of essay-like, and the article had a LOT of puffed-up (?) words, (i presume it’s because of the translation, now that i know about it) so i guess i was thinking that it sounded more of an essay someone would write for say, an assignment or a blog. it was kind of weird for me to be worried about this… thanks for explaining (ᵕ—ᴗ—) ☆ peach (yap with me ☆) 22:44, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

- And if you had these other concerns, why did you ask about the bibliography especially?
- Those concerns about the tone of the article may well be valid and you can act on them. The article was translated from the Italian Wikipedia and we know that the standards on en-wiki are perhaps more strongly enforced than in other languages. Promotion, puffery, and unsourced editorial comment are all things we eschew in English Wikipedia. Make the changes or propose them on the article talk page, depending on how BOLD you choose to be. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:00, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators will open on 1 June (UTC).
