While watching a fancommentary about the making of Nier I found this early design of the young protagonist. Since the user didn't credit the original source, I made a reverse google search and I found a website filled with early artwork for nearly all characters of Nier. You think the early designs are worth uploading in the creation section? Also, that video had some commentary about how Square got Yoko Taro to create an RPG to contrast their other projects like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts but without any source that can help in an article. @Tintor2: That early design is originally from the Grimoire Nier Complete Book (page 184 to 185 of the English release). There's literally no commentary on the design or who designed it, so not worth including. As for the game to contrast with KH, that's for the OG Drakengard and it was originally talking about a TONAL contras against Dragon Quest and FF. KH not mentioned. Apologies if I seem brusque, but I'm really wanting to avoid creating a false impression and perpetuating or generating a citogenesis situation similar to the whole "Faris was based on a gambler" thing by just adding the info without triple checking. --ProtoDrake (talk) 19:21, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

After I realized the sandbox's reception was becoming quite good in term of sources and size that do not involve reviews but instead heavy commentary on the story I created Caim (Drakengard). Tadah? Since the protagonist of Nier became GA yesterday I noticed a lot of the character's articles by third party sources also heavily focused about how the Western marketing reacted to Emil's character a lot. As a result, I created Emil (Nier) but it might require an expansion in regards to his creation. Feel free to give it a look and edit it. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 22:54, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
