I added a member of the Endres family that is well accomplished in modern society. Chad Endres has many outstanding merits and plays a significant role in mental health. Chad is regarded in high standing in Illinois and plays a significant role in the mental health of the area. I believe that Chad has a much more valuable and accomplished role in life than a volleyball player or baseball player both of which he is also good at if it were not for injuries. I believe that Chad Endres credentials deliver a valuable update to the progress of the Endres sur name in modern society. I am requesting that you do not change my edit. Hello Mango316! Thanks for the message, and I'm sorry for the late response. I understand where you're coming from and can appreciate why you'd be frustrated with me reverting your edit. However, note that name pages such as the one you edited are for linking to individuals that are assumed to be notable, to wit, people who already have articles about them published in the mainspace. Regardless of how noteworthy or accomplished you believe Chad to be, it's simply because he didn't have an article written about him here that your edits to the page were being reverted.

Note that on this platform, notability isn't determined by individual judgement. We actually have some guidelines regarding this, but to summarize them, an individual would have to be given significant coverage by multiple independent, published, and reliable sources in order for them to be considered noteworthy enough to have an article written about them—and in this case, for them to be included in pages like the one you edited. Unfortunately, it's not enough to say that a person is more valuable to their community than others in the page to justify their inclusion.

If you strongly believe that something on Chad would fulfill those requirements, you may wish to begin drafting an article on him yourself. Be sure to follow our other content policies, such as that on verifiability—every contentious claim being supported by an inline citation to a reliable source—biographies of living persons—our other content policies being enforced more strictly—and copyright—not using any copyrighted material unless in specific circumstances. I really appreciate the recognition you're giving me, and it's truly encouraging to receive such kind messages from others. As editors, we should strive to make this encyclopedia as high-quality for our readers as possible—they're the selected audience for whom this project was made and toward whom this project is geared. Tasks that take place behind-the-scenes, while indeed important, are secondary to improving our mainspace pages by most people's metrics. In furtherance of this end, I tried to improve Kalpana Chawla as well as I could, a task that was actually inspired by a request at the reward board. As embarrassing as it is for me to say, that was actually my foray into content work after being here for a month or so, as up to this point, I've been focusing strictly on those behind-the-scenes tasks, namely counter-vandalism.
