Hi! Thank you for this. As I am quite new here, I thought I'd might as well delete what I did until I can figure out how to get it right. Thanks again! Singer80 (talk) 18:21, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

When someone has "bot" in the username, it's an automated program. Still, it never hurts to be friendly to the AI, it'll take over the world sooner or later...[Joke] Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:46, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
Aha, I see. You learn something every day I suppose! I'll know till next time! Singer80 (talk) 08:51, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Felicity Lott

Sorry, I removed the "references" that you added to the lead/introduction of Felicity Lott, for several reason that you may not yet know as you just regeistered:

  • The lead is a summary and usually doesn't need any references; exceptions are quotations and things only mentioned there.
  • The Met plots are not about the singer but the operas. You might place them as an External link to the opera's article. Plot sections don't need any reference.
  • The opera house: the official website should be in External links on the house's article, and if not there yet, please add it there and in its infobox. Official websites should not be used as references as they are not independent.

Please let me know if you understand. Thank you for your interest, and happy editing! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:50, 22 May 2026 (UTC)

I'm so sorry that I have caused some kind of inconvenience for you and the edit. That was certainly not my intention! I've been in Wikipedia for two months, so I'm still learning. Thank you so much for letting me know and in hope of future contact! All the best! Singer80 (talk) 07:35, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
No problem, it's really no great inconvenience to remove 3 refs, - I remember many "mistakes" when I was a beginner, and most come from misunderstandings. If you ave questions, just ask here, - I'm watching ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:48, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
Many thanks! I'll try not to repeat my mistake! Thanks for reaching out and helping! I'm sure we'll in touch again!
All the best! Singer80 (talk) 07:51, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
I like your user name! I'm an alto singer in church choirs, - see my user's infobox on my user page. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:50, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
Wow, that is lovely!
I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and then many a tour in France and Italy for opera jobs which I'm grateful for!
Wonderful to have you as a contact here! (I might get stuck some time or another!) Singer80 (talk) 07:54, 22 May 2026 (UTC)

Elektra

As you may have understood from the explanations, the ref in the lead is not needed, - it should go to the body if not there yet, and the other belongs (only) in the article of the play, so add there if not present yet. Can you please do that? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:08, 22 May 2026 (UTC)

I think I know what you mean but not necessarily all the way. Can you give me a screeenshot of what to do and what NOT to do in this case? Sorry for disturbing you! Singer80 (talk) 12:01, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
(when relying to a post, don't leave a blank line, per the essay by RexxS on my user page)
Instead of one screenshot, I give you the history, in which you can follow edits, seeing (per click on diff) the changes to the former version and how it then looks, and the edit summaries.
A few more recommendations:
  • if possible, only edit a section, not the whole article: no edit conflict with someone dealing with e different section, and the section header appearing in the history for easier location for where the change happened
  • leave a specific summary
  • read the summaries of others
more recommendations from the specific history:
  • don't link common words like "overwhelming"
  • if you link do it for the first occurrence
  • the ref for the singer of the title role would belong in the body, not in the lead, I eventually removed it
  • you can retrieve what you typed before by clicking on the version that had it, click on edit and then copy from there - caution: don't save, or all later changes will be lost. In case that happens, don't panic, go to history and click "undo" for that last edit. It happens to all of us, really. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:25, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for that wonderful answer! I'll try my best and keep it going in a good manner. Elektra is dear to me and I know the opera very well. But you always learn, bits and pieces! 🙏 Singer80 (talk) 17:02, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
Elektra is dear to me, too. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:29, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
happy editing! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:25, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
I’m glad you’re here if something happens! As said, I’m new to this. Doing what I can! Thanks a million! ~2026-30680-72 (talk) 07:14, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

CS1 error on Leo Nucci

No, it's correct as is! Singer80 (talk) 05:19, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
Quick facts
Close
Sorry, no. I saw a warning: title missing, and wanted to correct that, but that website is down, so I couldn't see it.
I looked further and saw a reference Slippedisc, and sorry, that's not regarded a reliable source (WP:RS).
I looked further and saw a link to "Italian" but we don't link current countries and their capitals, not other common words (WP:OVERLINK). If in doubt, ask yourself: is the reader of the biography helped by a link at this point? "international" - really?
Luisa Miller is useful to link to, but it was not just a link (as the edit summary said) but new information, and I'm not sure that it is covered by the present references, and have no time to investigate. Please just add a reference to all new information, and add links only for helpful things, - perhaps self-revert some, - I won't follow your editing, no fear! Sorry about talking like a teacher ;) - happy editing! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:05, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
I'm not following you, but Salome is on my watchlist. I fixed that citation: "title" means just the title used in the reference, where it comes from should be "website", or "work", or "publisher". Dates should be given in the style other references in the article also use. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:21, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
So sorry! Will try not to repeate it! My bad! Singer80 (talk) 08:15, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
We should follow each other. You seem to bring many good things to me! Singer80 (talk) 08:17, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

I'm sorry to have done that! I don't really know what a "Soapbox" is. Whatever I did, I didn't mean to do it. Please inform me so I won't make the same mistake again! Singer80 (talk) 02:38, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
In context that you're trying to "sell" the place. You're saying they're "Estonia’s best-known and most loved brand" based on their own website. Big no-no around here, see WP:ABOUTSELF. You need something more independent, like Postimees, or even better BBC or SvD, to say something like that. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:19, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
I understand. I'll take a look at what you said. Glad that you're here and having an eye on me! Singer80 (talk) 14:27, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
