If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. If you are having trouble, you may want to try using the unblock wizard.
Before requesting a new username, check if it is still available. If the search says "There is no global account for [username]", the username is free to use.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the edit. {{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=suddenlyonfire | 3=The following request was written through the unblock wizard.
Can you explain, in your own words, why your edits were promotional?
I was not trying to be promotional, I was just trying to write some of the history seen. I'm not even employed at all. Not trying to promote at all, just sharing.
What is your relationship with the subjects you have been editing about?
I am a member of this church, and will use the COI template I just read about.
If you are unblocked, what topic areas will you edit in?
History of church; where started, when, founders, community impact, events, location and site
Is there anything else that may be helpful to your unblock request?
So Sorry that was literally my first attempt to write an article. It looked like some of the articles I was looking at that was already written, like the Sacred Heart Church, Blackpool. I was also looking for the sandbox to practice but couldn't find again. My apologies.

- I have renamed your account. Another uninvolved admin will review your unblock request. PhilKnight (talk) 04:25, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- Being a member of a church is not a huge conflict of interest, any more than being a customer of Walmart is. I am concerned that you say you weren't trying to be promotional but your text was a clear advertisement for the church. See WP:YESPROMO. Any article about the church should not attempt to solicit new members or otherwise just tell about it; it should summarize what independent reliable sources have chosen on their own to say about it and what makes it a a notable organization.
- I am also concerned that the text you wrote advertised various medical conditions healed by the church- including cancer, paralysis, and broken bones. While prayer can have certain impacts on health, and miracles that medical science cannot explain do happen, Wikipedia has very strict sourcing requirements about medical claims(see WP:MEDRS). You won't be able to claim that the church heals medical conditions without very strong, independent sourcing.
- Are there any contributions that you want to make other than about the church? 331dot (talk) 08:42, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
